Storm Repair and Roof Rebuild
On June 21, 2013, a mega storm brought massive damage to the Twin Cities. Months later (after insurance battles), we remove the tarps to reveal some of the damage. Tree damage has opened the porch to the elements. The ceiling above the stairway reveals the sky. The tree also damaged the porch eaves and gutters. The AEI Construction Division design team prepares a diagram illustrating the scope of work. Our meticulous crews build enclosures to protect Anne’s shrubbery. The crew removes damages decking and rafters. Tearing off shingles and decking. Note the tarp that captures all the debris. Skilled carpenter Dave has been doing this work for 20+ years. AEI’s Construction Division works only with the most skilled, experienced artisans. Re-decking and shingling the south side of the house. Safety first: harnesses keep our crew tethered and away from harm. We also replaced the chimney flashing. Flashing systems are the weakest part of a roof. We install ice & water shields. Then, we interweave the flashing and shingles to create a watertight barrier. Fresh, crisp, clean new rafters! Even on an overcast day, they’ve got a little glow to them. We installed new, seamless aluminum gutters around the perimeter of the house. This is sustainable design and sustainable constructional completed just before the first snow fall.
